2026 Birthday Vacation – Day 6 – Halloween

We heard that Halloween was an incredibly busy time at Fort Wilderness, but wow. Golf cart parades, multiple parties, DJs, road-side trick-or-treating, jam-packed restaurants – it was impressive. The festivities are great and the people seem wonderful. I can see why some people come back every year for Halloween here.

This isn’t my video, but skim through this for an idea of the golf cart parade.

We ate dinner at Trail’s End Restaurant. The Smokehouse pizza Cameron and I shared was well worth it (the toppings were better than the crust, but it was a win overall). After dinner, the twins did some serious window shopping at Settlement Trading Post. So much so that the employees closed the blinds and locked the doors before they realized Sophia & Cameron were still inside. After they escaped, we took the shortcut to the 100 Loop and checked out some more Halloween decorations.

The twins closed out the night with some art and video games. The rain held off until almost bedtime, but we had some decent showers. The forecast hints at possibly getting 4 inches of rain over the next 2 days. Sophia says she’s not afraid of the rain. I wonder what roller coasters will be running during downpours…
