Tanya & Bryan Duke's RV-6 Panel Rebuild
27 May 05: Huge milestone today: the panel is cut! I emailed
Pro Cutting my CAD files last night & dropped
off the panel blank this morning. Charlie luckily had a spare few minutes to throw my panel on the
water jet. Here's a photo he shot of my panel during the process.
Here's a photo of the finished panel.
The switches fit right in. One of the great things about cutting things with lasers or a water jet
is the ability to have very fine detail for no extra cost. Most toggle switches have a small notch
cut in one side of the threads. I drew a key in each of the switch holes. For my MS35058 switches,
the keys are only 0.025" x
0.050", but they work great to keep the switches from rotating. This saves me from having to use the
supplied washer key with the switches (they are ugly). I used 0.8" switch spacing (center to center).
